HEAD BREWER

This is a full time position.

ABOUT THE JOB

The Head of Brewing is a hands-on leadership position responsible for the direction, planning, and execution of all brewing operations. You’ll oversee production at our flagship Truckee facility and play a key role in the launch and scale of new locations. This role requires an experienced brewer with the ability to lead people, implement systems, maintain world-class quality, and collaborate across departments. This is a hands-on role that includes active participation in brewing, cellaring, and packaging duties alongside the team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership & Strategy

  • Lead and manage the brewing, cellar, and packaging teams at the Truckee production facility.

  • Collaborate with the General Manager, CEO, and Sales & Marketing teams to develop quarterly and annual production plans.

  • Set and track KPIs to measure performance, quality, and efficiency.

  • Coordinate production planning and raw material allocation across all brewery locations (Truckee, Reno, Mammoth) to ensure alignment in sourcing, yeast propagation, and inventory.

Brewing Operations

  • Actively participate in day-to-day brewing, cellaring, and packaging operations while overseeing schedules and ensuring production goals are met.

  • Develop and refine beer recipes to align with brand identity and market trends.

  • Manage raw material procurement and inventory using brewing software systems.

  • Ensure safe, efficient, and sanitary operations throughout the brewing process.

  • Support our barrel-aged and specialty programs including Eclipse releases—managing barrel procurement, ingredient sourcing, and scheduling.

Quality & Facilities

  • Maintain brewing equipment and support facility upkeep, including boiler, glycol, centrifuge, and pasteurizer systems.

  • Ensure all locations uphold strict cleanliness, sterility, and safety standards.

  • Continuously improve SOPs, cellar practices, and brewhouse efficiency through data-driven decision-making.

Team Development

  • Lead by example to foster a high-performing, collaborative, and respectful team culture.

  • Oversee onboarding and ongoing training in coordination with the Head Brewer.

  • Build, coach, and retain a team of skilled brewers and production staff.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 5+ years of commercial brewing experience, including 2+ years in a leadership role.

  • Deep knowledge of brewing processes, QA/QC, safety, and recipe development.

  • Experience with brewing software (e.g., Ekos, OrchestratedBeer, Beer30).

  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.

  • Ability to lift 55 lbs and move 150 lb kegs.

  • Experience with expansion, multi-site operations, or large-scale production is a plus.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • Salary range: $70,000 – $85,000, depending on experience

PACKAGING LEAD

This is a full time position.

ABOUT THE JOB

  • Lead the process of getting liquid into cans, kegs, and bottles
  • Continually work to improve packaging efficiencies and quality of product in package
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot 12-head Palmer counter pressure canner and 6-head Meheen bottler
  • Keep packaging equipment and workspace in excellent condition
  • Maintain inventory of replacement parts, upkeep equipment maintenance
  • Develop and execute Packaging’s KPIs and SOPs
  • Work with the Head of Ops and Warehouse Manager to create and execute packaging schedule and breakdowns
  • Operate lab equipment pertinent to packaged goods quality control
  • Assist with cellar work, warehousing, and other production ops as needed
  • Follow SOPs while exercising good judgment to know when SOP’s need to be challenged or updated

  • 21 or older
  • Proven success in previous roles
  • Background in brewery packaging or related fields strongly preferred
  • Able to:
    • Work with heavy equipment/machinery
    • Lift up to 55 lbs and push up to 165 lbs
    • Follow SOP protocols
    • Bend, lift, reach, and stand on your feet for 8-10 hours

COMPENSATION

We are offering this as a full time hourly position with room for growth within the company. Compensation for this role is between $26.50 and $30.50 depending on your individual background and experience. In addition to hourly compensation, we offer 2 weeks accrued PTO, 5 days of accrued sick pay, paid government holidays, subsidized health and dental insurance, plus matching 401k after one year of employment.

BREWER/CELLAR OPERATOR

This is a full time position.

ABOUT THE JOB

This position is a cross-departmental production role that includes all brew house and cellar operations, as well as packaging assistance on a rotational basis and occasional lab duties.

 

As an overview, your role would include the following tasks:

  • Execute all aspects of grain handling and wort production
  • Execute all aspects of cellar operations
  • Execute all centrifuge filtration and brite beer handling
  • Regularly assist with kegging, canning and bottling as needed
  • Regularly assist with lab tasks, including but not limited to gravities, VDKs, and cell counts
  • Periodically assist with recipe development and brews on our ten barrel pub systems

 

HELPFUL ATTRIBUTES

In order to do this job well, we think the following experience, qualities, and skills would give you a head start:

●Two or more years of professional brewing experience

  • A comprehensive understanding of brewing, cellaring, filtration and packaging techniques
  • Comfortable operating automated brewing and CIP equipment
  • Strong communication skills in a fast-moving, cross-functional, cross-departmental team environment
  • Able to multitask while maintaining attention to detail
  • Flexible, able to adapt to the ever changing needs and schedule of a production facility

COMPENSATION

We are offering this as an hourly position with room for growth within the company. Compensation for this role is between $23.00 and $27.50 depending on your individual background and experience. In addition to hourly compensation, we offer 2 weeks accrued PTO, 3 day accrued sick pay, paid government holidays, subsidized health and dental insurance, plus matching 401K after one year of employment.
